The Jacobson Memorial Hospital Foundation was founded in 2006 to accept and manage donations in a manner that will benefit Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center. Through these efforts, we hope to ensure that Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center will be able to provide quality health care for years to come through pledges and donations given to the foundation and used in support of the hospital and affiliated clinics. The foundation's volunteer board of directors manages the contributed funds.
This past year the Jacobson Memorial Hospital Foundation was an important factor in helping Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center upgrade the care center's medical information system from a DOS program to a Windows-based program. This is very similar to the upgrades formerly performed in the acute care setting of Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center. Through a managed donation from Burlington Northern Santa Fe, the foundation was also able to replace some much-needed equipment in the lab at the Glen Ullin Family Medical Center in Glen Ullin. Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center manages this clinic as well as the Elgin Community Clinic in Elgin.
